Stopping the Server |
|
There will be times when you need to add or remove hardware. To do this you must power-off the server. Before you power-off the server, you will need to "halt" it. This process will flush buffers on the server and assure an orderly shut-down. 1. ssh into the server 2. Execute the following: $ sudo halt 3. Wait for a couple of minutes. Once the disk LED stops flashing, you are free to unplug the server. |
